Harborside and LakeView theater students performed Sleeping Beauty before a full house on March 26. Congrats to Mr. Kotlewski and all performers! This year, they choose to recognize the Harborside senior team for their work throughout our 'Senior to Senior' expedition. Our school is proud of this award! Harborside Academy 12th graders marched to the post office to take care of last minute college applications and forms. County Executive Jim Krueser addresses the Harborside senior class while they were in the Kenosha post office during our first March to the Post Office event. Dr. Hancock, Superintendent of Schools, addresses the Harborside seniors at the Kenosha Post Office as they send in last minute college applications, recommendations and transcripts. Harborside music and theater students travel to Chicago to see Wicked. Ms. Henkel's CREW built and installed this 'Little Free Library' outside of Frank Elementary School. Students from Ms. Henkel's CREW dedicated the library with the kindergarten students at Frank. Students and adults in the neighborhood have been encouraged to stop by and borrow a book whenever they want to read. Way to go Henkel CREW! Students and staff at Harborside Academy gathered together outside for a picture to show their appreciation and gratitude to all veterans. Students and staff held up American flags and banner thanking veterans for their service. Jake G. and Mr. Gottfredsen are pictured here working together in Mexico at a local veterinary hospital. Harborside Student Ambassadors meet with Melissa Roussin from the Rwandan Schools Project. Melissa is the co-founder of a grade 6-12 Expeditionary Learning School in Rwanda. She visited Harborside on October 9th to learn about our school. Harborside students helping at the Hoop House at Wilson School. Harborside raised garden beds at XTen Industries. Gardening/Aqua ponics at KTEC school. (KTEC is a gardening partner with Harborside.) Seniors volunteering at the Alzheimer's Association Walk at UW Parkside. Harborside Academy Summer School

Our academic summer school is only for Harborside student for course completion. To enroll, complete our Harborside SUMMER SCHOOL Registration 2014 and return it to the office.

A new addition this year for high school students only is the ability to take a summer physical education course that will earn them .5 credit. This will run in the first summer school session at Harborside. Priority will be given to Harborside students and the class will fill quickly. To enroll, complete our Summer School P.E. Registration.

 

This KUSD Emergency-Health form needs to also be completed and turned in with Summer School form.

Please Note: Senior trips' dates are April 27-29, 2015 (M-W). Under unique circumstances students can also be excused for April 30, 2015 and May 1, 2015 (Th – F). Examples of unique circumstances – students are in New Orleans doing Habitat for Humanity, saving a rain forest in South America, etc. To be excused for the full week will require approval from Mr. Henningfield and Mr. Underwood.

Harborside Academy Juniors Provide Food for All | Expeditionary Learning

The Harborside Community Urban Garden partners with multiple schools within the Kenosha community to enable all students get a chance to contribute. 11th Grade Harborside students and teachers along with students from Carthage College and Gateway Technical College; the Division of Health through theTransform Wisconsin Fund with Brian DeCesaro as garden coordinator; KUSD's Kenosha School of Technology Enhanced Curriculum (KTEC), Edward Bain School of Language and Art (EBSOLA), Somers, Wilson Elementary, and Frank Elementary are all involved in some capacity to the success of Harborside Community Gardens
